Immerse yourself in nature
Visiting the Indian Ocean Territories
The islands have strikingly different features to explore, from the volcanic rock and lush rainforests of Christmas Island, to the white sand, coconut trees and blue lagoons of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands. Swimming, diving, fishing, snorkelling, hiking, birdwatching, photography and golf will keep visitors coming back again and again to experience these extraordinary Australian territories.
Introducing the Indian Ocean Fest
You’re invited to take a deeper dive into island adventure from June 21 – 28, 2022 on Christmas Island. Be one of only 30 people to experience the first Indian Ocean Fest, Australia’s most remote island festival for adventure-loving oceanophiles.
The exclusive seven-day festival offers guests the chance to immerse themselves in a dizzying array of nature experiences, including encounters with the island’s diverse wildlife. The carefully-curated program also offers a blend of adventure-based activities and one-of-a-kind culinary experiences paying homage to local cultural diversity and Asian heritage.
Visit the Fest website for more information and to register your interest.
There are currently two flights a week to and from Christmas Island and Cocos Keeling Islands departing from Perth, Western Australia. These flights are operated by Virgin Australia.
The IOT Tourism Associations can arrange bookings for car hire, accommodation and tours. There are a range of accommodation options to choose from on the islands. Click on the logos below to begin planning your IOT adventure:
